Sage Model 505 fly reel. Made in England by Hardy and closely modeled after Hardy’s JLH series, Sage commissioned a run of these reels in the 1990’s.
The 505 is a versatile trout size, ideal with 4-6wt lines. Solid frame with ported spool and alloy foot. Rim mounted tensioner works as intended, and the nickel silver line guard can be swapped to fish LHW or RHW .. set as LHW now ..
this reel has obviously been used and loved .. there is rash, a little rust, some noticeable fading and corrosion .. this is the kind of Classic Fly Reel you don’t mind putting on your old favorite Fly Rod and carry with pride ..
I have used this reel a few times and would love to keep around ., but just how many can one person use in a lifetime .. hope it makes another lifetime of memories ..
